1. Module F1 - Introduction to Aviation Heritage

2. Module B1 - Making your Aircraft Safe

IWM Duxford only

Class Size

Maximum of four (4) volunteers per session

Applicability

All volunteers in the Aviation Heritage sector irrespective whether experienced or not.

Course Aim

To provide volunteers with an insight into the process of Disassembly, Transportation and Reassembly of aviation exhibits ranging from complete airframes to smaller sub-assemblies.

Content

Health & Safety implications.
Developing a plan of operation.
Documentation of work processes.
Necessity for using correct bolts,fastners etc.
Correct usage of hand tools and specialist removal and assembly items.

Assessment

Assessment will be carried out by means of practical exercises and a question paper containing Multiple Choice Questions. The pass mark shall be 80%.

All volunteers may choose whether or not to undergo assessment. Anyone opting for the package will be required to pay a £5.00 registration fee, payable to City & Guilds, for each certificate awarded.
