Pre-requisite Knowledge/Experience

Module F1 Introduction to Aviation Heritage

Location

Any BAPC organisation with suitable facilities

Class Size

Maximum of eight (8) volunteers per session

Applicability

All volunteers in the Aviation Heritage sector irrespective whether experienced or not.

Course Aim

To provide all volunteers with knowledge of aircraft construction techniques and the uses and handling of different types of materials.

Structural Classification:

  • Primary Structure
  • Secondary Structure
  • tertiary Structure

Understanding of materials and their uses
Identification of materials and safety precautions
Identification and classification of aircraft fasteners

Assessment

Assessment will be carried out by means of a classroom exercise and a question paper containing Multiple Choice Questions. The pass mark shall be 80%.

All volunteers may choose whether or not to undergo assessment. Anyone opting for the package will incur a £5.00 registration fee payable to City & Guilds.
