Mission Statement
The National Aviation Heritage Skills Initiative (NAHSI), working for the British Aviation Preservation Council (BAPC), aims to provide training which will help and encourage volunteers to learn new skills and in so doing enhance the standards of conservation, preservation and restoration within the UK aviation heritage sector. NAHSI will be the major UK provider of such training and recognises the importance of aiding volunteers to reach their potential and thus to safeguard items of national importance. NAHSI will promote existing BAPC volunteer development and encourage new volunteers into this sector through:
- Making available high quality accessible training for BAPC member organisations throughout the UK.
- Flexible and responsive training programmes to serve a diverse volunteer body.
- High quality training services that meet rigorous professional standards;
- Training which equips its volunteers with new and enhanced skills to improve standards of aviation heritage conservation.
- Playing an active role in the ‘Widening Participation’ strategy;
- Stimulating and assisting volunteers to develop their own knowledge;
- An administration and financial management that serves volunteers and instructional staff and secures the financial health of the project.
